Supervisor Meeting 9/17/24

Yesterday's meeting was packed-- both sides of the firehall were filled with residents standing all along the edge. At the opening of the meeting the agenda was handed out, and the voting to advertise the ordinance had been removed from the meeting agenda. The supervisors explained that they met with the planning commission's legal counsel before the meeting, and they decided to delay a decision to advertise so that they could set a special meeting with more experts to answer questions.

KEY NOTES FROM THE MEETING:

• Voting to advertise the current drafted ordinance was moved to a later date (currently unknown date)

• Chris Lawrence resigned as chairman of the supervisor board at 9:05pm (verbally & in writing)

• The supervisor board will discuss what the next steps are in how to fill the vacancy -- they have 30 days

• Supervisor Dave Stiffler addressed concerned residents reiterating that the ordinance will be looked at again and more in depth by planning

• Supervisors and our solicitor Dennis Makel agreed they would notify CLEAR when the special meeting date is set so we can post it on the website to update Jefferson residents

• Huge crowd turned out for the meeting -- thank you Jefferson Twp!
